Adult students are a growing population, and in order to address the needs of these learners Walden university is offering new online degrees in Adult Learning.

Their MS degree program was created to meed the demand for educators who can design, deliver and manage courses and programs for adult learners. The program will help educators understand the motivations and aspirations of adult learners, and prepare them to help students achieve their goals. The program will also examine emerging trends and research the field of adult education and learn how to cultivate skills in adult students which will help to increase their success in the current workplace environment. There is a general degree program and four different areas of specialization, including developmental education, online teaching, teaching adults English as a second language, and training and performance improvement.

The University of Southern California and The New York Times have joined hands to offer new online courses for continuing education program. The New York Times Knowledge Network and USC will offer around 40 online courses in seven subjects including architecture, cinematic arts, arts management, business, medicine and politics.
These online courses will be accessible for working as well as non-working adults who are keen to learn new skills and develop expertise in them. The faculties for these online courses will involve USC faculty as well as The New York Times journalists. Felice Nudelman, the executive director of education at the Times Company, was in the opinion that "We have decided that these online courses will not count towards a degree but might gradually start full-fledged degree programs.''

16-year old Kayla Heard will soon be the youngest graduate from Washington State University. And the point to be noted is that she got her bachelor degree without ever visiting the college. She completed her studies through online education degrees by the University.
These days, online courses and online degrees are becoming common. Many people prefer to seek online degrees. The online degrees are becoming popular for young and old people.
WSU was the first among the state universities to offer online degrees, starting in 1992. Currently, WSU provides eight online degrees entirely.
5 million students were enrolled nationally in online colleges in 2008, according to a study published in 2010.
But educators had no idea that students will not step into the colleges if they are enrolled for online courses.
